Simplified and Cost-Effective Method of Studying the Effect of Steel Fibers on Ultra-high Performance Concrete Specimens’ Properties/Members’ Performance

This research work, which presents a simplified technique of modelling steel fibers, uses python algorithm that can be directly run in ABAQUS to automatically generate the location and orientation fibers rectangular ultra-high performance concrete specimen, so effect on properties such specimen investigated through numerical simulation. method is fast, applied structural members bigger dimensions (like beams, columns, slabs) unlike existing methods are only applicable small size specimens, also solves problem associated with previous where some may generated placed outside boundary leading discard regeneration those fibers. To assess validity this method, experiments were conducted compressive three cube specimens shear two results compared ones obtained using method. Results indicate over 97% agreement between experiment simulation ultimate compression force resistance at crack load phases. The comparison reveals perfect failure mode pattern specimens.
